Useful Books about Theology for Evangelical Readers
Theology is strictly speaking the study of God. In practice, it is the attempt to understand the Bible's world view and the implications of that world view for the way that people should live. Theology tries to understand the spiritual reality behind the narratives in the biblical text. It answers questions like: Who is God? What will happen when I live for Him or rebel against Him? Why does it matter? What are the similarities and differences between Israel's faith in the Old Testament and believer's faith today? The world is full of books that make truth claims about theological topics. The books listed in the links on this page are for the most part written by conservative authors. While their claims may not always be right, they merit thoughtful consideration.
