Preparing for Ministry
The Introductory Programs for Pastors are written for laymen with college level educations who want to improve their ability to build God's Kingdom. They are also written for pastors who have not yet gained a formal theological training. The Pastor as Shepherd Program has a strong emphasis on courses related to the life of the church. While it touches on all topics covered in a seminary program, its emphasis is on Practical Theology, and its goal is to help people learn to minister more effectively to the practical life needs of a congregation. The Program can be found at the Shepherd link on this page. The Pastor as Bible Teacher Program has a strong emphasis on understanding and teaching God's Word. It gives more emphasis to understanding the Word than to the practical skills needed to build a congregation. The program can be found at the Bible Teacher link on this page. The Pastor as Defender of the Faith Program is helpful for people who want to stand in the gap and defend the church against those who reject Evangelical Christianity. It has a strong emphasis on Apologetics and Evangelism. It also has a strong emphasis on the evidence used to support or critique mainstream (liberal) theology. The program can be found at the Defender link on this page. |
