Beginning Ministry

The Beginning Ministry program is intended for laymen who want to improve their ability to serve God's kingdom. The Beginning Ministry program resembles a MDiv program in a traditional seminary. The Beginning Ministry program can help prepare someone for ministry either in an independent church or in a denomination that does not require a seminary degree. Remember though that any academic or non-academic theological program can not guarantee students employment at the end of the program.

The Beginning Ministry included 42 required program units. Students are required to select an additional 24 program units from the elective courses for a total of 66 units. Since the preaching course is six units long, the program requires a total of 21 courses.

BEGINNING MINISTRY PROGRAM

Copyright by Rodger Dalman, 2009,  Brooklyn Center, MN

While the Beginning Ministry Program offers neither academic credit nor a degree, the level of learning that it can provide can be compared to a Masters of Divinity in Church Life.

The following courses require reading several books. To obtain the books, check either the publishers’ web sites or online book sources like Amazon.com. For helpful advice about finding books, see the BOOKS section of the RESOURCE CENTER.
